It is a blessing of Baba that on the auspicious day of Maha Shivaratri I am sharing Sai Baba's most blessfull,melodious and meaningful hymn "Shri Sai Nath Stavan Manjari".This composition is authored  by Shri Das Ganu Maharaj in Marathi language and has been translated in to many languages which have been shared through this website from time to time.Devotees can find the download links :HERE.

Today I am happy to share "Shri Sai Nath Stavan Manjari "in Bengali language.The credit to this translation goes to Sai sister Sanjukta Chatterjee .She has recently shared Sai Vrath in Bengali too.

We all know that nothing moves without the will and blessing of Baba and this post is not an exception .I am sharing sister Sanjukta's experience of how she got inspiration for translating this revered hymn from Baba and what she experienced while she did the translation .

From time to time I have shared experience and blessing of reciting Shri Sainath Stavan Manjari on our family.I have felt direct grace of Baba whenever I have chanted this hymn and very peaceful effect on mind and soul.

I would recommend that each devotee should definitely read this hymn once and experience the grace of Baba .

Sometime during 2009(rougly remember) that I first came in contact with Manishaji, who, by this time has become my Manishadi (Di) .

I had then, approached our common mail box in search of our dear Baba’s Aarti’s in Hindi, the reason being, I wanted to understand the meaning of the Aartis while I perform them. Di had come back to me with the link to the Hindi aarti’s and advised me then to start translating things that I yearn for myself and then spread it across for the benefit of others too. Indeed a very valuable advice. But during that time, perhaps my ill quality got the better hold of me and I sat quiet.

Very soon, I read Di’s site and her own experience on the wonder effect of Shri Sainath Stavan Manjari and wanted to know everything about it. The first ever time I came to know about the wonderful hymn was through Di's website .I came to know complete details of Sainatha Stavan Manjari by Shri Das Ganu Maharaj ji- the best hymn I have come across so far! Anyone reading it would share the same feeling, for sure. I immediately downloaded it, shared with my husband-transferred to his mobile as well mine and it soon became part of our lives. Our mornings would start with listening to the hymn…. Switch it on whenever anything seemed sullen.

Now, let me share my honest feeling that had taken birth on my mind with the entrance of the valuable Stavan Manjari in my life. I felt Sainath telling me in my thoughts … "very soon Manishadi would approach you to translate this in Bengali!"... I was scared by the thought !! ).. Yes. Manisha di.. I share this with you today in this common forum , accepting my folly. I was scared for 2 reasons.

A) I am weak in Bengali as I have spent more than 18yrs in Mumbai. People in Kolkata laugh at my Bengali dictum!! How this got translated…? am sure all will agree its HIM who translated it HIMSELF!

B). The Stavan Manjari is a long hymn of 163 phrases. And again my lazy self caught the better of me and I felt it impossible to translate it in Bengali.

Plus, being a working woman, I felt it would not happen.
Ok so here, I avoided bringing the topic on Stavan Manjari with Di then and always but as we all know, the inevitable has to happen and so it happened in my case, thus.

I left my job to take care of my family post maternity.

I approached Manishadi on my own accord with a copy of Sai Vrat Katha translated in Bengali which Baba made me translate (yet a miracle).This Vrat has been recently completed with Baba's grace and uploaded for download in Di's website.

And yes… the inevitable , as Baba had already informed me happened. Di was happy to see the Sai Vrath translation and told me she was desirous of getting the Stavan Manjari as she feels it is the most blessed hymn a devotee can chant for Baba. Look at Baba’s Leela here! She however did not tell me directly to go ahead (as Baba knew of my earlier hesitation, so I feel Baba did not allow Di to tell me, instead made me speak it out myself). I replied Di I shall translate the Stavan Manjari in Bengali. Even then I had no idea, how could that happen? And even now, as I am typing this. I don’t know how it happened!! Or perhaps, we all know, how it happened !!

Few other experiences which I felt during my translating this famous hymn is as follows :

Obviously, being weak in Bengali, I was lost for want of words. And out came the most complicated words on my mind, all by itself!!! HIS grace!!

On 08/02/2012, Wednesday , Baba as if whispered to me “You would hear the conch once you write the 163rd verse”.


I replied “Baba!.. Is that possible? The house priest (we have a priest appointed for our house temple) would come at 5pm – 5.30pm( evening time). Is it possible I complete this so soon?(It must have been around 3.45 pm during that time.. don’t recollect the verse I was on…). And then , I forgot about our conversation and went on with my translation.


Soon I heard the conch!!!... I immediately remembered our conversation… And what do I see? I was typing 163!!! All I can say, I felt Baba blessed the work!!....

Baba .. how can I ever repay your debt? Well , I cannot. Please always be as kind to all of us!... That’s my prayer!!

Oh yes… I completed this before Thursday, which I always wanted to!

Finally, I would request the readers to really read this work, whether in Hindi, Marathi, English, Tamil, Telegu or Bangla. It is simply a wonderful  divine and blessed hymn which would definitely bring tears to your eye.

Few of my famous verses from the hymn is when Das Ganu Maharajji addresses :Baba as being our mother and we HIS child and that a child held in mother’s arms is naturally without fear(how true!) also that we have a claim to HIS milk . Very authoritatively Ganu Maharajji has implored Baba to wash away our sins and purify us. If HE doesn’t who will? I like this authority as you have authority only on the one you love. That is pure love.

To me, I worship HIM as being one amongst us. I laugh with HIM, also get offended with HIM ) .. (which doesn’t last for even an hour!! )Scold HIM too!!..:)) , dance with HIM.. Sing with HIM… etc.

The other verses which has touched me is when: Maharaj ji compared BABA to a shade giving tree and demanded that if still one feels the heat sitting under the shade giving tree, then who will call that tree a ‘shade-giving’ tree? Also, when he requested Baba that our mistakes and mind are HIS, therefore the credit or discredit of our actions should not be ours but HIS !!


Please read the Stavan Manjari…A miraculous hymn! It honestly helps us cross our worldly tensions.. increases our faith in HIM and gives us confidence !

The above verses are only few of my favourites… There are lots of such verses!!

What blessings Das Ganu Maharajji must have received from Baba to have gifted us with this work! Words fail to describe !

I questioned sister Sanjukta how she heard through Baba and wished to know in detail about her experience of getting indication through me .She responded to my query through the details as given below.Jai Sai Ram .

Yes Manisha di regarding your questions ...


1. The first time when I was hearing Shri Sainath Stavan Manjari downloaded from your site after reading your experience on the same, I felt Baba whispered me that soon you would have to translate this and Manisha would tell you to do it. When I got the English copy of the book which I purchased from Shirdi (Jan2009), inside the temple premise, and started reading it sitting in the temple premise , for the 1st time understanding the meaning of the Marathi version , I felt HE again repeat it(cant remember clearly )It was a thought though. But thereonwards I was sure, confident actually, that you would definitely come with your desire to me one day.


2. Here too, Baba spoke to me in my mind..


Di.. you too will know, we Bhakts have a way of communicating with HIM. HE talks to us... even though we feel it is our voice, it is actually HIS voice.


Whilst at this... I will want to share a small experience with HIM where I had promised HIM that I would never doubt my inner voice as HIS saying... which is very suitable for explaining this to you .
Incase you find it suitable , you may post it in your site.


During my Shirdi visit in Dec 22,2011 to Dec 26, 2011 (I have already shared my experience on Rs.10/- during the same trip), as I was standing in the Darshan queue with my daughter's nanny Sumitadi along with my daughter , Doll (Sumitadi was holding Doll), I heard a voice, no other than HIS voice tell me 'Gurusthan,.Gurustan... tell Sumita to meet you at 'Gurusthan'.


Since I hear such voice(s) often, ignored it (due to the crowd).. and replied mentally to the voice ,'Once this darshan is over, I shall tell her just in case we get separated to make Gurustan our meeting place'.
Again the voice responded...'No, tell right now!'... I replied .." Later Baba".
Well we were moving in the line together... when all of a sudden a hand ushred me towards another line which would directly put me to the centre of Baba's idol. (I always desire to see Baba from the centre line)


Excited to see Baba  but I was worried to get separated from Sumita di and Doll. Worries clouded my mind. How will Sumita di know the exit? where do we meet?Doll!! Oh my Sai!!


So, after Darshan , I waited for them.. explaining one of the security guard that I got separated from my 19 month old daughter, please allow me to wait. He, being kind did allow me.


I waited close to 15 mins in front of Baba mentally thanking HIM for the longer darshan in disguise. Yet scared of being able to meet my daughter soon. I cursed myself for not minding Baba's order earlier and asking Sumita di to meet me at Gurustan.


When after 15mins, Sumita di did not turn - I was dead scared. The security told me to go to Gurustan and search for her. Here again Baba tells me through the security person.


I rushed to Gurustan. Did not find them.


Then,I cried before Baba bitterly and promised HIM there and than,that every time, when I hear my inner voice talk , I would never ever doubt but believe it is my SAI's direct order and direct saying. So pleading, I turned and I found them.
I hugged them and cried with tears of happiness!!


Thus, Di, I never doubt my inner voice anymore.
You know Di, I see HIS dream very often almost daily ! HE tells me things, takes me on a SHIRDI trip, something or the other.I even saw you in one of my dream where you were telling me to do various work on our Baba .


With these explanation I am sure you will understand how Baba guided me in my thoughts.
