Sairam,
I would like to add here, that we are a family from the Armed Forces so we keep getting transferred. Hence as time moves on, so does this narration, to a decade later, the scene also shifts to Pune (Maharashtra).

I had been married for some time but could not bear child; it often worried my husband and myself. We knew only Our Sai could help us for no doctor could help. .
Sure He did when we appealed to Him. I also vowed to have udi through out the 9 months of pregnancy Sure enough our first child arrived, an answer to our prayers – pure, simple and sincere prayers. We knew our daughter was Baba’s gift to us. And our faith strengthened more and more.
When our second child was on its way, I once again vowed to have udi for the entire 9-month period.

Human as we are, we often falter when it comes to keeping of promises made to Baba and sometimes it happens due to laziness or a similar weakness. I too have been a victim of such follies..
For the first few months I religiously took udi -in the sixth month I accompanied my parents on a five-day pleasure trip to Delhi. I felt lazy to take udi so skipped doing so. On the fourth day at Delhi, when we were happily shopping at Pallika Bazaar I felt so sick that I was rushed to the hospital where I was immediately admitted.
The doctor’s verdict was final.-, “ Sorry, you’ve lost the child – it’s a miscarriage .’The first thought that came to my mind was “ I need my vibhuti . I apologized to Baba for breaking my vow for no reason at all. I cursed myself how weak I could be ?,when I had so much faith on Baba and forgot Him and my Vow for simple pleasure, immediately I made up my mind and prayed to Baba to forgive me and that I shall carry on without fail my Vibhuti .
On restarting it, I began to feel better and was soon discharged from hospital. On returning home (to Chandigarh) I went to the gynecologist under whose care I’d been and when she examined me she said the baby was doing fine why are we worrying ?.
We were flabbergasted on hearing that all was well and that diagnosis of the miscarriage was proved wrong. Prayers of thanksgiving are all we could to Baba our Divine Father who tests our faith and though we are often found lacking, He never fails us nor forsakes us. To continue … our son was born; that one beautiful child has grown into a strapping handsome young 23-year-old lad –a Sai devotee like his sister. All Baba's love,His Grace and blessing on my children. All I would like to say ..
Baba doesn’t punish us for our shortcomings but He reminds us to fulfill our promises. A recent experience carried a similar lesson which I shall send in my next mail.Sairam.
